Marhaban and Greetings from Jordan!
I’ve been traveling through Jordan for the past two weeks, showing my parents around this dramatic, beautiful and evocative country. I’ve visited Jordan many times over the past decade. Jordan remains one of my favorite countries in the region. It may be small, but it’s jam-packed with great travel experiences, stunning landscapes, delicious food, and wonderful people.
Jordan offers all the best that nature created – burnt red sand dunes, rugged escarpments and rock cliffs, turquoise waters of the Red Sea, some of the best diving locations in the world, and siqs and wadis made from bands of brightly pastel colored rock.
Best known for Petra (a big thank you to Indiana Jones: The Last Crusade for that one), Jordan is a top destination to hike, camp, enjoy desert camel treks, and dive. It also has a network of excellent eco-lodges run by the Royal Society for the Conservation of Nature.
For this three week trip, we hit many of Jordan’s highlights. Here are a few of my favorite moments. Hopefully it will inspire your own travel adventures in Jordan.
And stay tuned to ArchaeoAdventures’ blog as I share more tales and photos from the road. Up next is Istanbul and Turkey!
